The member representing Ebonyi North East state constituency, in the House of Assembly, Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, has distributed hair dressing dryers, barbering kites, crona grinding machines and tables, bags of rice, wrappers, clothing, cash gifts among others to the less privileged persons in the constituency.
Hundreds of indigent persons benefitted from the annual empowerment programme which the lawmaker stated was part of her contributions in alleviating the suffering of the less privileged and to ensure they celebrate the festive period in joy and happiness.
The event which took place in her Abaofia Residence, Ebonyi local government area of the state saw a good number of indigent, less privileged persons and disabled people converged to participate in the celebration.
Addressing the people, Mrs. Nwogbaga said that the aim is to complement the People’s Charter of Needs mantra of the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru adding that the governor has given them the level playing ground to assist and meet the needs of the people.
Mrs. Nwogbaga who is the chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Women Affairs and Social Development maintained that the gesture was extended to all the wards in her constituency.
She commended the state governor for his developmental strides and qualitative approach to good governance in the state adding that the construction of the ongoing Vanco flyovers, road networks, water reticulation and payment of N150,000 Christmas Bonus to civil servants in the state attest to his commitment to the development of the state and welfare of the people.
