Liverpool Defender Ramsay Joins St Mirren On Loan

Liverpool right-back Calvin Ramsay has joined Scottish side St Mirren on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old, capped once by Scotland, joined the Reds in 2022 from Aberdeen on a five-year deal.

Ramsay has made four senior appearance for Liverpool but is yet to feature in the Premier League.

His departure frees up a spot for a non-homegrown player to arrive at Merseyside.

Clubs can register a maximum of 17 players not classed as a ‘homegrown player’.

A homegrown player is a player who, regardless of their nationality or age, has been affiliated with any English or Welsh club for a period of three entire seasons or 36 months before their 21st birthday.

Earlier this month, Ronald Araujo’s arrival took Liverpool’s non-homegrown player quota to 17, which hit the limit.
