The ongoing transfer stand-off between Nigerian international Ademola Lookman and his Italian club Atalanta has taken an intriguing turn, with reports emerging that the talented winger has flown out of Italy.

The Italian journalist Matteo Nebuloni revealed that Lookman vacated his home in Bergamo and has likely left the country altogether.

The Super Eagles forward, who has been sidelined due to a calf injury, has not disclosed his whereabouts to Atalanta, prompting speculations about his next steps.

Sources suggest that Lookman may have sought refuge in a more tranquil setting, aiming to recuperate from his injury away from the pressures of training and negotiations.

Lookman has missed two training sessions so far this week, and if absent from practice later on Wednesday, Atalanta would be within their rights to withhold his salary, according to Italian labour laws.

This situation adds further complexity to an already uncertain transfer landscape.

Atalanta appeared to have resigned to the possibility of losing the player, yet they maintain the authority to dictate the terms of his next transfer.

As the situation develops, football fans and pundits alike will be watching closely to see how this drama unfolds and where Lookman’s future may lead him.
