Everton staged a dramatic late fightback to hold Manchester United to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling Premier League encounter on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, United took the lead just after the restart when Bryan Mbeumo found the net in the 46th minute, putting the visitors in front.
Everton refused to surrender and continued to push for an equaliser, with their persistence eventually rewarded in the 83rd minute when Tyrique George restored parity.
United responded almost immediately, regaining the advantage in the 88th minute through Benjamin Šeško, who put the visitors 2-1 ahead and appeared to have secured another valuable away victory.
However, Everton produced one final twist deep into stoppage time. Ainsley Maitland-Niles struck in the sixth minute of added time to level the contest and send the home supporters into celebration.
The late equaliser denied United all three points and ensured Everton were rewarded for their persistence after twice falling behind.
The result will leave United frustrated after coming within seconds of claiming victory, while Everton can take considerable encouragement from their refusal to give up and their ability to recover from two setbacks.
The two sides ultimately shared the spoils after an entertaining contest at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
