A teenager, Jafar Musa. 18, has reportedly stabbed a student of the University of Education Kontagora, Seyi Simon, to death following an altercation at a welcome party.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occurred at the main hall of the university during the welcome party for the newly admitted students.
It was learnt that Jafar who is not a student of the university was at the party at the instance of another friend when an arguement ensued between him and the late Seyi .
An eyewitness revealed that the argument was due to a call by Seyi that Jafar should conduct himself well, and angered by this advice, Jafar brought out a knife and stabbed the deceased.
Confirming this to LEADERSHIP in Minna, the Niger State capital, the police command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun said, “At about 1.40am, it was reported at A Division Kontagora that during a party organised for the newly admitted students in the school hall, there was a misunderstanding between one Jafar Musa 18 years of Angwan-Gwari area of Kontagora and one Seyi Simon 25 years, a student of the school.
“In the course of the fight, Jafar Musa stabbed the student with a dagger, the victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Kontagora where he was confirmed dead, while the suspect was arrested for further investigation,” he added.
