A yet-to-be-identified man was on Monday killed after he was struck by a moving train around the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

Reports indicate that the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of the day.

Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident as he stated that the agency received a distress call at 8:28 a.m. on Monday.

Dr Oke-Osanyintolu in a statement on Tuesday, remarked that LASEMA, in response to the distress calls, activated its Eagle Response Team from Cappa Base.

“On arrival of the Eagle Response Team at the incident scene by 0902hrs, LRT discovered the body of an adult male lying dead on the railway track.

“Further investigations by the Eagle Response Team revealed that the adult male was reportedly hit by a moving train in the early hours of the day,” he averred.
