Marvel Opens Early Ticket Sales for Avengers: Doomsday, Confirms Epic Runtime Ahead of Release

Marvel Studios is giving fans an early chance to secure seats for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, with premium-format tickets set to go on sale months before the blockbuster arrives in cinemas.

Disney is expected to begin selling domestic tickets for specially designated Infinity Vision screenings on July 20, more than five months before the film’s scheduled release on December 18. The move marks one of the earliest ticket launches for a Marvel film and is designed to reserve premium large-format screens for the highly anticipated superhero epic.

The announcement also confirms that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is expected to run for 165 minutes (two hours and 45 minutes). That would make it longer than 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, which ran for 149 minutes, but shorter than 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which clocked in at 181 minutes.

As part of the rollout, Disney will also release Infinity Vision tickets for a special theatrical return of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’, beginning on September 25.

The early ticket strategy comes just ahead of Marvel Studios’ appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, where the first full trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is widely expected to debut during the studio’s Hall H presentation before being released online.

The move follows a growing trend among major studios to build excitement well ahead of release, after Universal recently put select premium-format tickets for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ on sale a year in advance.
