McLaren Racing has appointed Schneider Electric as its Official Energy Technology Partner, expanding a long-standing supplier relationship into a strategic partnership across its global motorsport operations.

The partnership covers the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team, McLaren F1 Academy, and the McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar Team.

Under the agreement, Schneider Electric, a global energy technology company, will work with McLaren Racing to develop and deploy advanced energy solutions to support peak performance in high-demand environments. This includes providing resilient power solutions at race circuits worldwide and at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, United Kingdom.

Both companies said the collaboration builds on more than 20 years of working together and is anchored in shared priorities around data intelligence, innovation, and engineering excellence.

The partnership will focus on optimising energy use across McLaren’s facilities, including wind tunnels, manufacturing sites, and IT data centres.

Planned initiatives include improving asset efficiency, reducing energy consumption, supporting electrification through advanced energy technologies, and applying digital twin technology to generate data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing, Zak Brown, said the partnership reflects both organisations’ commitment to innovation and energy efficiency, adding that the collaboration will help make McLaren’s operations smarter and more efficient.

Chief Executive Officer of Schneider Electric, Olivier Blum, said motorsport provides an ideal environment to demonstrate the value of advanced energy and digital technologies, noting that McLaren’s high-performance demands align with Schneider Electric’s focus on reliability, efficiency, and performance
