FC Porto manager Francesco Farioli has indicated that Nigerian forward Terem Moffi is close to securing a regular starting spot in the team.
Moffi arrived at Porto on loan from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on the final day of the winter transfer window. He made his debut last weekend, playing 16 minutes in Porto’s 1-0 victory against CD Nacional.
Farioli revealed that Moffi is nearing full match fitness. “These past few weeks have been good for improvement; he’s working hard. I’ve already said that in terms of weight and body composition, he’s back to where he should be. He’s close,” Farioli told reporters.
When asked about Moffi’s potential as a starter, Farioli responded, “Soon. We have Deniz at the moment, who is a step ahead. In the coming weeks, we’ll need both of them to help us maintain a very high level.”
