Negotiations between both clubs had dragged on for weeks due to disagreements over the payment structure before a breakthrough was achieved. Speaking to Fotomac, Montella credited Osimhen for demonstrating true loyalty to the club. “Osimhen showed that he wanted to play for Galatasaray, no matter what, and he fought an incredible fight with Napoli to join us,” Montella stated.

“Being such a young and pivotal player, having achieved international status, he has the ability to guide others to come here. It is gratifying that such important players are joining us.”
