The free fire Insurance package on the comprehensive motor policy under the ‘Double Double Promo’ can cover household items or the house itself or both, depending on the choice of the owner.

Similarly, in the ‘Awoof Xtra promo,’ there is instant gift items, such as; mobile phones, gift vouchers, airtime and so on, to be redeemed upon purchase of third party motor insurance policy which is at a fixed price of N15,000.

While this is a novel initiative in insurance industry aimed at deepening insurance adoption in the country, the two promos are expected to last till the end of the year, in the first instance, after which AXA Mansard would assess the situation with a strong determination to continue the initiative beyond this year.

With 12 million registered vehicles in Nigeria of which about a paltry 3.5million were adequately insured, a whopping 8.5million vehicles are uninsured, a gap that this new initiative is trying to address.

Speaking during the company’s launch of Awoof Xtra and Double Double Promo in Lagos on Wednesday, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the insurance firm, Mr. Kunle Ahmed said, while the Awoof Xtra promo was for 3rd party motor Insurance policy, the Double Double promo was for Comprehensive motor insurance policy.

The two promos, he stressed, were meant to drive insurance adoption, especially, on motor insurance, such that, policyholders get values for money.

As a proactive underwriting firm, he said, the company understands the tough economic situation most Nigerians are passing through, which is leading to less disposable income, noting that, this was the reason why the company is giving free additional fire insurance cover for every comprehensive motor policy purchased through any of its platforms.

Promising that the company will not compromise standard despite the promo, he said, AXA Mansard always rely on feedback mechanism to come out with any initiative as it is a company devoted to meet the needs of its customers.

” In situation where premium is fixed such as motor insurance, we always give back to our loyal customers, which is what we are doing through this promo. This initiative is a give-back mechanism to our customers,” he said.

On her part, the chief Customer and Marketing officer, AXA Mansard Insurance, Jumoke Odunlami, said the promo addresses the needs of its customers, drives insurance awareness and penetration, especially, on its motor insurance, adding that, interested persons can purchase or renew their third party or comprehensive insurance policy through any of its channels, such as; its website, using its scratch card, debit card or through any of its advisors.

” For third party motor policy, you stand a chance of getting instant gift if you procure your policy through AXA Mansard. The process is: purchase the scratch card; scratch the redeem gift panel at the back of the card to redeem your gift instantly; visit our website using your debit or scratch card for purchase; complete the displayed 3rd party motor insurance form and you can claim your instant gift; which could be mobile phone, gift voucher, airtime and so on. Here, everybody is a winner.”

On comprehensive motor insurance, she said, motorists who purchase fresh or renew its existing policy between now and the end of the year will automatically have additional free fire insurance cover and will be presented with the certificate upon completion of the motor policy form and providing the necessary information to initiate the free fire policy.

Similarly, the chief Client officer of the underwriting firm, Rashidat Adebisi, said, the promo was a response to feedback it got from its customers as well as a response to the current economic reality, being a proactive insurer that has the satisfaction of its policyholders at heart.

Customers, she said, is always first in what the firm did or is doing, noting that, irrespective of the promo, AXA Mansard will continue to provide premium and exceptional services to its numerous customers, even as its products are affordable and pocket-friendly. Quality would not be undermined despite being a promo product, she assured.

Divisional Director, Retail, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, Adeola Adebanjo, said, the company has always played a big role in deepening insurance penetration, stressing that, the promo is one of the avenues to increase subscription of motor insurance among the 8.5million uninsured motorists in the country.
