MURIC Commends El-Rufai’s Temporary Bail To Attend Mother’s Burial

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) had hailed the decision of President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu for facilitating the temporary bail granted to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to enable him attend the funeral of his mother, Hajiya Ummah El-Rufai.

The group’s executive director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a statement on Saturday, while commisserating with the former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, his son Bello El-Rufai and all members of the El-Rufai family, appreciated the federal government, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and NSA.

‎The mother of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Hajiya Ummah El-Rufai, passed away on Friday 27th March, 2026.

‎The group prayed that Allah forgives the deceased mother and grants her Aljannah firdaos.

“We thank Almighty Allah for the life of our mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai,” MURIC said. “Character is either inborn or instilled and cultivated. The physical resemblance between mother and son is a strong pointer to where the son inherited his high level principles.

‎”To the El-Rufai family and friends, let us take solace in the fact that it was El-Rufai’s mother who died, not the son and not the grandson. We have every cause to thank Allah for His divine Mercy. It means there is light at the end of the tunnel.

‎”We know what happened in other climes.The late President Muhammadu Buhari could not attend his mother’s funeral because he was in detention.

“Neither could Sambo Dasuki 35 years later for the same reason. A human face has been added to embellish the corridor of justice in Nigeria,” MURIC concluded.
