Muslims in Osun State have implored President Bola Tinubu to uphold principles of fairness and equity in the distribution of appointments in his administration.

Speaking in Osogbo at the Ramadan lecture organised by the Osun State Muslim stakeholders in collaboration with the League of Alfas in Osun State, the president, Concerned Muslim Stakeholders and League of Alfas, Sheikh Qozeem Abdul Rahaman noted that the Muslim Ummah in Yorubaland has faced challenges, particularly concerning federal political appointments.

“We earnestly implore Mr President to uphold principles of fairness and equity in the distribution of such opportunities, ensuring that the community’s voice is adequately represented,” he said.

Rahaman however charged Muslims in the state to reciprocate the generosity that President Tinubu has extended to them by supporting his administration especially as 2026 is election year in Osun.

“For the sustainability of programs such as this, initiated by our President, we must ensure that our votes are cast for candidates who align with our faith, those who genuinely represent us, not for individuals who traverse religious boundaries merely as a matter of convenience. As it is said, “To you be your religion, and to me, my religion.”

“Beyond the esteemed title of Asiwaju Musulumi of Ikireland, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji stands as a proven and reliable Muslim leader, deserving of our unequivocal support and confidence,” Rahaman posited.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the lecture, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15 election, Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, appealed to Osun people to visit the INEC office to get their voters’ cards adding that it is the only instrument they can use to vote in Oyebamiji.
