A group under the aegis of Concerned Patriotic Plateau People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders has appealed to Governor Caleb Mutfwang to consider appointing the PDP chairmanship candidates for the October 2021 local government election into his cabinet.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the PDP candidates in the 17 LGAs of the state were barred from participating in the 2021 election. The government then tagged the party as lacking the requisite structure to participate in the election.
The group argued that the chairmanship candidates should be considered, as they have remained resolute and stood firm for the success of the party even in the face of stiff opposition.
The coordinator of the group, Hon Gyang Ishaku stated this during a press conference in Jos the state capital.
“As concerned patriotic stakeholders, we also commend you, Mr Governor, for recalling workers earlier suspended from the civil service and the improvement of workers’ welfare. This is an uncommon show of love for young men and women. Posterity will surely judge you kindly,” he said.
Ishaku pointed out that the massive rehabilitation of roads within the Jos/Bukuru metropolitan area was equally commendable.
“Worthy of note is the resumption of work on the Utonkon Bridge to further connect the metropolis. The introduction of rail transport service within Jos-Bukuru is another banner decision for your nine-month administration. The floating of the Tin City Metro Bus Service will greatly ease the sufferings of the people,” he stated.
