President of the United States, Donald Trump, has revealed that his youngest son, Barron Trump, is an avid admirer of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Trump made the remark after Ronaldo met Barron shortly before the Portuguese icon was honoured at a White House dinner on Tuesday night.
The footballer was part of the high-profile delegation as the US President hosted Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in Washington, D.C.
Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, arrived in the United States alongside his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez.
The 40-year-old appeared in a sleek black tuxedo and was seated among notable personalities, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and US Vice President JD Vance.
During his address at the dinner, Trump publicly acknowledged Ronaldo’s presence and recounted how his son had been thrilled to meet the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star.
“This room is filled with some of the biggest leaders in business and sports,” Trump said. “My son is a big fan of Ronaldo. Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now—just because I introduced him. So I want to thank you both for being here.”
Ronaldo recently made headlines after receiving a red card in Portugal’s World Cup qualifying match against Ireland, which ruled him out of their subsequent victory over Armenia on Sunday.
That win secured Portugal’s spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
