National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has appointed Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Ali as its new secretary following the voluntary resignation of the former secretary, Dr. Abdullahi Rabi’u Kontagora.
Alhaji Alidu Shutti served as acting secretary during the transition period.
Dr. Ali’s appointment was announced yesterday in a statement signed by Shafii Sani Mohammed, principal information officer for NAHCON Chairman/CEO, following his confirmation by the NAHCON Board during a meeting held on February 26, 2025, in accordance with Section 8 of the NAHCON Establishment Act of 2006.
The statement said his selection marks a significant milestone for representation from the North East region within the commission and is expected to enrich its leadership with his extensive experience in pilgrim management.
