Alhaji Alidu Shutti served as acting secretary during the transition period.

Dr. Ali’s appointment was announced yesterday in a statement signed by Shafii Sani Mohammed, principal information officer for NAHCON Chairman/CEO, following his confirmation by the NAHCON Board during a meeting held on February 26, 2025, in accordance with Section 8 of the NAHCON Establishment Act of 2006.

The statement said his selection marks a significant milestone for representation from the North East region within the commission and is expected to enrich its leadership with his extensive experience in pilgrim management.
