Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has commended the citizens for their courage, resilience and unity in the journey through statehood within the last 29 years.
LEADERSHIP reports that the state was created out of the western part of Plateau by the late General Sani Abacha military government in 1996.
In a statement marking the anniversary of the birth of the state, Governor Sule acknowledged that the journey has been tortuous and challenging, but noted that with courage, resilience and unity of purpose, the state is weathering the storm.
He said with a united front the state has evolved into an economic and industrial hub to reckon with not only within the North but Nigeria at large, defying all impediments.
“Today is not only a time to reflect on how far we have come, but also to celebrate the courage, resilience, and unity that define us as a people.
“Over the course of this journey our state has weathered challenges and embraced opportunities with hope and determination,” he stated.
The governor appreciated the faith and support of the citizens in the vision and strides of the administration, which has inspired it to keep working tirelessly to build a state of shared prosperity.
“As we mark this milestone, I assure you of our administration’s unwavering commitment to policies and projects that improve lives—strengthening infrastructure, attracting investors and expanding opportunities for all.
“We are resolute in fostering peace, and creating an enabling environment for growth,” he noted.
Governor Sule saluted the state’s founding fathers for laying and enduring legacies of development and growth sustained over the decades by successive administrations.
“Let me salute our founding fathers; those who have transited and those who are alive for laying the foundation and contributing their quota to the development of our state.
“Together, we will continue to unlock the vast potentials of Nasarawa State and position our dear state as a reference point for prosperity,” he said.
