The Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has said the agency developed more than 44 commercially viable Made-in-Nigeria products and created over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in 2025, attributing the achievements to the dedication and professionalism of its workforce.

Halilu disclosed this during the 2025 NASENI Staff Motivation and Reward Event in Abuja, where he described the ceremony as a celebration of the employees driving the agency’s transformation.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by NASENI’s Deputy Director of Information, Chima Akwaja, the EVC said the agency has been repositioned under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda into a performance-driven institution anchored on the principles of Creation, Collaboration and Commercialisation (3Cs).

“Tonight is more than an award ceremony. It is a celebration of the people behind NASENI’s transformation. Behind every innovation, every partnership and every achievement are dedicated staff whose commitment has made our progress possible,” Halilu said.

He said the 3Cs strategy continues to guide NASENI’s efforts to develop homegrown technologies, forge strategic partnerships and commercialise innovations that improve the lives of Nigerians.

Highlighting the agency’s achievements, Halilu said NASENI has produced more than 44 commercially viable products, including laptops, smartphones, solar irrigation pumps and electric tricycles.

He also disclosed that construction is ongoing at the 40-hectare NASENI Solar Industrial Park in Gora, Nasarawa State, which is expected to become Africa’s largest clean energy manufacturing hub.

Halilu said the agency awarded more than ₦229 million in grants to female engineers through its Developing Engineering Leaders Through Her (DELT-Her) initiative to encourage innovation and expand opportunities for women in engineering.

He added that NASENI’s Irrigate Nigeria Programme and Agricultural Machinery Institutes have generated over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, while the agency’s Zero Carbon Project and electric mobility initiatives are supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable technologies.

The EVC congratulated recipients of the 2025 staff awards and encouraged employees who were not recognised to remain committed, assuring them that every contribution is valued in advancing the agency’s mandate.
