The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) has urged lawyers in the country to continually adapt as artificial intelligence and digital transformation reshape industries worldwide.
Chairman of the NBA-SBL, Ozofu Ogiemudia, gave the advice during a media engagement in Lagos organised to discuss the 19th edition of the Section’s Annual Business Law Conference, which is themed “The Future of Business Law in an Intelligence Age.”
Ogiemudia stated that the conference, scheduled to take place from July 2 to 4, 2025, would serve as an important platform for discussing the legal implications of AI-driven business models and strategies for legal practitioners to stay ahead in this evolving landscape.
She said this year’s conference, featuring the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammad Sanusi II, as the keynote speaker, promises to be a landmark gathering of legal experts, business leaders, regulators, innovators and policymakers.
Ogiemudia further stated, “Intelligent systems, from artificial intelligence and machine learning to predictive automation, are redefining how businesses operate, make decisions, and interact with regulatory frameworks.
“This conference is not just a response to that change, but an effort to lead the conversation on how business law must evolve to thrive in this digital age.”
