Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper has been arrested in Colorado, United States, following allegations of domestic violence and criminal mischief.
The 28-year-old American football star was taken into custody by law enforcement officers on Thursday night.
According to prison records, Cooper was booked into a detention facility at approximately 2:38 AM on Friday.
While the exact details leading up to the incident remain unclear, the athlete is currently being held on two counts of domestic violence alongside charges of criminal mischief. He is expected to appear before a judge for an initial hearing, with a follow-up court date scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026.
Cooper, who played college football at Ohio State University, was selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has since become a key player on the team’s defence, recording 8 sacks and 50 tackles in the previous season.
