Niger Governor Seeks Robust Public-Private Driven Agricultural Investment In Niger

Niger state governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting farmers.

The governor stated this when he visited Doyin Farms, a private farm along Bida-Lemu road in Niger State.

LEADERSHIP reported that the farm comprises a 500,000-capacity fish pond, 8,000 cocoa and Banana plants, and 3,000 palm trees, with a 50-person workforce.

The Governor, delighted by the farm’s development, praised the farmer’s initiative, contributing to job creation.

He said the farmer investment reflected the agricultural transformation agenda of his administration and reassured the continuous collaborations with the private-public sector to drive the agrarian revolution in the State.

Earlier, the Governor stopped over at his farm along Bida for an inspection and to appreciate the staff and management team working on his farm for their hard work, diligence, and tireless efforts to contribute to the food security and sovereignty in Niger State in particular and Nigeria as a nation.
