He announced the taking over of the rehabilitation of some federal roads with the approval of the federal authorities.

At the groundbreaking of the three road projects in Kontagora under his Urban Renewal Programme, he said the projects covered the reconstruction of the 90km Kontagora-Rijau Road, the construction of the 19.4 km Kontagora Western bypass Ring-Road and the 8.7 km Kontagora Eastern bypass Ring Roads.

He said the reconstruction of the Kontagora-Rijau Road has been approved for reconstruction by the state to alleviate the suffering of the people even though it is a trunk ‘A’ road and responsibility of the federal government.

The governor said that the Federal government has also given a nod to the state for the reconstruction of the 41km dualisation of the Kakkaki-Minna Road and 91km Rofia-Borgu Road which are all federal roads.
Bago described Kontagora local government area as central in Niger North Senatorial District and a centre of commerce pointing out that good road infrastructure will improve the movement of goods to other places.

The Kontagora-Rijau Road reconstruction will be carried out by Triacta Nigeria Ltd while the Western and Eastern bypass Ring Roads are to be executed by Brosini Nigeria Ltd.
