Niger State government is to acquire N500 billion worth of agricultural inputs aimed at creating agricultural hubs in the state.

The state governor, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, stated this during the presentation of land development and preparation equipment at the Brains and Hammers Rice City, Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi Farm, Chakwa community in Wushishi local government area of the state.

He said the programme is aimed at creating over one million jobs adding that his administration will engage in Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements to realise the target of the Niger State Agricultural Revolution in line with President Tinubu’s agenda for agricultural development and food security.

The governor said the state government is poised towards establishing the Niger State Strategic grains reserve and protection of land from encroachment.

Bago used the forum to encourage the youths to engage in agriculture as the state government will commence the disbursement of N250,000 each to youths and women to facilitate their farming activities.
