Nigeria Needs Selfless Senate President – APC Ex-councillors

Former councillors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), named APC Association of Ex-councillors and Political Appointees, have said the 10th National Assembly needs a selfless Senate president for the good of Nigeria.

While the former councillors noted that the party’s choice of candidates may be sacrosanct, they noted that with the present economic and political challenges in the country, Nigeria cannot afford a Senate President that is overzealous.

The national coordinator of the group, Hon. Yusuf Dabo, made this known yesterday in a press briefing after the meeting of the former councilors and political appointees association in Abuja.

He said they have decided to endorse a candidate that would help the incoming president actualise his vision and mission for the country.

Dabo said, “We shall endorse the next senate president of the 10th Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria with the support of all and sundry. Someone that is selfless and has the interest of Nigerians at heart.

Because our interest is for the development of Nigeria and the betterment of Nigerians.

“As you may be aware, the members of this association are drawn from the 774 local governments of Nigeria. We are indeed one of the recognised pioneer Pro- APC Support Groups from 2015 to date.

“We are a formidable one with all LGA political appointees both past and present with her Headquarters in Abuja. Our leadership is made up of loyal APC men and women of tested quality. More so, our group’s operations and activities are backed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
