Nigeria To Host 54 African Nations At 2nd Africa Military Games In Nov.

At least 54 African nations are expected to converge in Nigeria in November for the second Africa military games.

The Director of Sports, Defence Headquarters, AVM Abidemi Marquis, disclosed this yesterday while briefing journalists on the forthcoming event.

He said despite the tension in Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) military athletes from Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and Guinea had indicated interest to participate in the games billed to hold between 5 and18 November 2024 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Marquis said the event with the theme; “Enhancing military cooperation in Africa through sports” would give African countries opportunity to interact with one another towards sustaining good relationships built over the years.

He said the event would feature both male and female athletes participating in 19 sporting events.
