The Nigeria-Britain Association (NBA) has unveiled plans to host the 2025 edition of its annual Nigeria Independence Day celebration in the United Kingdom, marking Nigeria’s 65th anniversary of nationhood.

This year’s event, themed “Nigeria & the UK: Building Bridges, Creating Futures,” is expected to bring together Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in the UK to celebrate the country’s cultural heritage while deepening bilateral ties between both nations.

In a statement on Tuesday, the President of the Association, Sola Oyetayo, described the gathering as a significant milestone, noting that it would feature the association’s newly installed patron and former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.

“This year’s event is the fifth consecutive edition and a continuation of a tradition that fosters the age-long relationship between the UK and Nigeria,” Oyetayo said.

He explained that the event would go beyond celebration, serving as a platform for cultural and corporate exchanges.

“Each edition has afforded us the opportunity for corporate and cultural exchange with our existing partners and to reach out to new ones. This edition will be made more significant by the presence of our newly installed Patron, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, who will take the lead in the courtesy visits that are a hallmark of the event,” Oyetayo added.

The 2025 celebration is expected to attract eminent Nigerians, diplomats, captains of industry, artistes, and representatives of both the Nigerian and British governments.

BK90 is providing entertainment support, and Dangote Industries’ involvement highlights its commitment to Nigeria’s global engagement.

Established in 1969, the Nigeria-Britain Association has remained a key platform fostering cultural exchange, business collaboration, and social impact between Nigeria and the UK.
