Founder of Creatives Nigeria, Makoji Kelvin Ibrahim, has said Nigeria has a vibrant young population whose talent, if well harnessed, can contribute significantly to the country’s socio-economic development.

Makoji stated this at a recent webinar tagged ‘Track and Triumph’, which was organised by The Creatives Nigeria.

Makoji, a life coach and seasoned professional passionate about capacity building and mental wellbeing, said Track & Triumph is one of its initiatives to support creatives by equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to set goals with clarity and determination.

He said, “It is the start of a new year; we thought it was a great opportunity to get everyone back to the drawing board to ensure they can think critically about their goals and set modalities to achieve them with grit and determination.

“We periodically host events in the form of meetups to bring creatives together, to network, share ideas, and enable collaborative learning.”

He also said Creatives Nigeria was created to create a hub for creatives to thrive by sharing resources and opportunities. “We are passionate about nurturing talents, advocating for creative excellence, and driving impactful projects that contribute to Nigeria’s cultural and economic development,” he said.

Also, Makoji noted that one of the biggest things that can sabotage creative success is setting unrealistic and no time-bound goals. Still, the training helped participants find solutions to that.

“This training provided a focused direction for their artistic endeavours by fueling inspiration, driving innovation, and allowing participants to develop a roadmap for channelling their creativity with purpose and intention. We tasked participants to carry out a personal SWOT analysis before the event by analysing their areas of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities to succeed and threats that might mitigate their success. These helped drive their motivation to contribute to the sessions. We believe everyone who attended left with a better insight and areas of focus to achieve better results this year,” he said.

One of the participants, Otuyemi Oluwatomi, said the webinar was very insightful and impactful. Oluwatomi said, “My takeaways from the event was the need to set practicable goals, acquire skills that will take me to the next level, build a network of people who will help me achieve my goals, leverage social media and think outside the box. I am looking forward to the next event by the Creatives Nigeria.”
