The director-general of the Nigerian Institute for Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Dr Bayero Salih Farah, has said the institute will play a leading role in putting Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector in the global space.
Farah, who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Zaria, said that the National Diploma in Transport and Logistics Management, National Innovation Diploma in Shipping Management have commenced.
He said the institute’s outreach learning centres in the six geopolitical zones have commenced Certificate in Transport and Logistics (CTL), Diploma in Transport and Logistics (CTL) and Postgraduate Diploma in Transport and Logistics (PGDTL).
The DG said all the programmes run by the institute were tied with the vision of becoming an internationally recognised centre of excellence.
Farah added that the expanded programmes and upgraded curriculum of the institute matched with the global standard.
He explained that NITT was established to bridge some gaps in the transport and logistics sector of the economy, stressing that the institute has provided numerous experts to bridge capacity gaps.
On the infrastructural development, Farah said the unique transformation in the institute would open doors for more patronage. “The transport Technology Centre was equipped with modern equipment and tools that was designed to enable the institute to achieve its mandate effectively,” he said.
