Chairman of the North Central People’s Forum (NCPF), Alhaji Sani Ndanusa, has called for a strategic united voice and collaboration across the six North Central states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to promote development in the region.
Ndanusa made the call during the inauguration of committees and their members for each state, including the FCT, in Abuja yesterday.
He emphasised that the NCPF is a voluntary organisation aimed at uniting the people of North Central due to its strategic location at the centre of the country.
While commending the group, Ndanusa highlighted that the North Central People’s Forum has been actively working as a voice for the region for over three years.
He stressed the need for a unified strategy to address cross-cutting issues and promote progress in the context of Nigeria.
Ndanusa expressed joy in the formation of committees at the right time, focusing on discussions ranging from economic development to the region’s abundant natural resources, including hydro capacity and solid minerals.
He emphasised the importance of leveraging these resources for the benefit of the North Central region.
“We must come together, harmonize our trade, and collaborate with chambers of commerce to drive socio-economic development across the entire country,” he said.
Ndanusa also announced plans for a zonal trade fair to showcase resources from each state, fostering discussion and collaboration.
He lauded the chairman of the North Central Governors Forum for their support, emphasising that the NCPF aims to complement the efforts of larger entities to position the North Central region for success in the Nigerian context.
“If there is peace in the centre, it will spread to other parts of the country, contributing to economic growth, water transportation infrastructure, road transformation, and agricultural products across the nation,” he added.
