The Northern Minorities 4 Tinubu has declared plans to mobilise no fewer than two million people from across the 19 northern states to Abuja in the coming weeks in a show of solidarity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

At a press conference held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Abuja, the group, led by its convener,

Chief Jacob Edi, the convener of the group, said in a press statement that the initiative is part of a wider mobilisation to counter what it described as “a poisonous lie” that Tinubu is anti-North.

“Nothing can be farther from the truth. We, the northern minorities, the true majority of the North, reject their falsehood.”

According to the group, Tinubu’s leadership has been marked by inclusivity and cross-party recognition.
“This is not politics as usual. That is proof of leadership that cuts across divides.”

The group listed several strategic positions currently occupied by northerners under Tinubu’s administration, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the GMD of NNPCL.

It also pointed to the establishment of the North-West and North-Central Development Commissions, as well as the historic inclusion of an indigene of the Federal Capital Territory in the Federal Executive Council, as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to equity.

“This is not tokenism. This is transformation in its purest and real form,” the statement noted.

While acknowledging the economic hardship facing Nigerians, the group compared the moment to labour pains temporary, necessary, and leading to something greater.

“When the results fully manifest, this country will look back and thank Tinubu for the courage to act. In 2027, the North will deliver not just victory, but an authoritative, crushing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Edi said.
