Northern Youths Hail Appointment Of Idris As Information Minister

Niger State governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Bago has disclosed that the state government is to spend N3 billion on palliatives to cushion the effect of subsidy removal.

Governor Bago stated this in Suleja at the closing see of a two day retreat organised for commissioners, members of the State House of Assembly, special advisers, local government council chairmen and heads of ministries, department and agencies.

He explained that each ward in Chanchaga, Bida, Suleja and Kontagora local government areas are to receive N20 million, while the remaining wards in 21 local government areas are to get N10m each.

The money according to the governor,  is to be used in purchasing food items at ward level for onward distribution to the people at the grassroot.

He said a committee will be set up in that regards for immediate implementation.

Speaking on the retreat, the governor charged participants to be proactive in revenue generation adding that, revenue is what the state needs to drive its developmental plans .

Governor Bago observed that no lofty idea will be meaningful without available funds hence, every stakeholder in governance must  be aggressive and intentional about revenue generation so as to meet the demands of the citizens.

The board chairman, Niger State Internal Revenue Service, Mohammed Madami Etsu at the event appreciated the governor for his foresight and assured him that the revenue service will work assiduously to help in achieving set targets.
