Matchday 27 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) delivered a mix of dominant performances and crucial draws, with Kano Pillars making a significant leap out of the relegation zone and Ikorodu City maintaining their slender lead at the summit.

Kano Pillars delivered a resounding performance, thrashing El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri 3-0. This vital victory propelled them out of the relegation mire, moving up to 16th position with 32 points and offering a much-needed boost to their survival hopes.

League leaders Ikorodu City, despite playing at home, were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Bayelsa United. This result, while not a win, was enough to keep them at the top of the table as their closest rivals also faltered.

Second-placed Rangers International of Enugu missed an opportunity to close the gap on the leaders, playing out a goalless draw against Katsina United. The 0-0 stalemate means Rangers failed to capitalise on Ikorodu City’s dropped points.

In other notable results, Abia Warriors secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kwara United, while Kun Khalifa continued their strong form with a 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes.

Nasarawa United also claimed a 1-0 home win against Bendel Insurance. Plateau United were in rampant form, dispatching Shooting Stars with a convincing 4-1 victory, and the highly anticipated clash between Rivers United and Enyimba ended in a 1-1 draw.
