The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) is confident that train services between Minna and Lagos will resume in the next few months.
NRC’s managing director, Kayode Opeifa, shared this update via his official X account, reaffirming the corporation’s commitment to improving rail logistics across the country.
The move aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to enhance transportation and reduce the cost of goods by supporting states and businesses engaged in productive ventures.
Opeifa reiterated NRC’s role in strengthening supply chains and logistics, ensuring that the corporation supports economic activities nationwide.
“The NRC is working towards ensuring that, within a couple of months, train services will commence between Minna and Lagos,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, discussions between the Niger State Government and NRC are ongoing to solidify a partnership aimed at safe rail transportation of food items.
This collaboration is expected to help mitigate post-harvest losses and improve food distribution across the country.
