The Commandant- general, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has appointed Ahmed Abodunrin as the new commander of the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC).

He takes over from Commander Tersoo Shaapera  who has been redeployed to another unit.

The appointment comes as the primary and post-primary schools are set to resume in continuation with the 2024 academic calendar, and a kind of strategic re-organisation, a statement by the public relations officer of the corps, Babawale Afolabi, said.

The statement added that the new commander is a trained and accomplished journalist. He joined the NSCDC as a volunteer in 1994 and rose through the ranks.

Dr. Abodunrin has held key appointments in the NSCDC and served as state commandant in Ogun and Ondo states.
