The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of a man impersonating its personnel at Kwado area of Katsina metropolis.
The suspect, identified as Abdurrashid Gambo was apprehended by residents of Kwado community on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after he was allegedly caught with NSCDC uniform while being suspected of theft.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SC Buhari Hamisu, the suspect had claimed to be a volunteer with the Katsina Central Division of the NSCDC about six years ago and a resident of Kofar Durbi/Mallam Niga community.
However, investigations revealed that he was never enlisted as a volunteer with the Corps.
The NSCDC commended members of the Kwado community for their vigilance and swift action in apprehending the suspect.
“The Command maintains high levels of credibility, discipline and professionalism as its watchwords,” SC Hamisu emphasised.
The State Commandant, Ahmad, appreciated the public for their continuous cooperation with security agencies and urged residents to provide credible and timely intelligence that would help in uncovering criminal activities across the state.
