NUJ Adamawa Mourns 6 Gombe Journalists Who Died In Road Crash

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of six journalists who lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Gombe State.

The Chairman of the Council, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, in a condolence message, extended the Council’s sympathies to the National President of the NUJ, Gombe State Council, the management of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Gombe, the Ministry of Information, as well as the government and people of Gombe State over the unfortunate incident.

Ibrahim described the deaths as a painful loss to the journalism profession and the country, noting that the deceased were dedicated professionals whose contributions to the development of the media industry would be deeply missed.

The Council stated that it stands in solidarity with the families of the deceased, their colleagues, and the entire media community in Gombe State at this difficult time.

The Council prayed that Almighty God grants eternal rest to the departed souls and give the bereaved families and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The deceased journalists include Zarah Umar, manager news and senior special assistant to Gombe State Governor in the Office of the First Lady; Manu Haruna Kwami, manager administration NTA; Isa Lawan; Musa Tabra, a retired manager news; Aminu Adamu, senior driver; Adams Danladi of StarTimes; and Judith Kutus, information officer with the Gombe State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The journalists died on their way from a wedding ceremony along Billiri-Kaltingo Road in Gombe State on Monday.
