Apex Igbo sociocultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has expressed dismay over what it termed discriminatory considerations during the recent reconstitution of the Chairmen and Directors-General of key federal institutions, including the Bank of Industry and other national agencies.

The organisation alleged that the lopsided considerations were reflective of gross compromise of national equity and principle of Federal Character as enshrined in the Constitution.

Spokesman of Ohanaeze, Dr Ezechi Chukwu made the position of the body known while reacting to the recent reconstitution of the chairmen and Directors-General of some federal institutions.

Ohanaeze expressed displeasure and concerns over what it called glaring exclusion of South-East and South-South by President Tinubu-led administration in those federal institutions.

Ezechi stated that these important institutions constitute the frontline drivers of national reforms and economic re-invigoration of the country.

“Ohanaeze consequently posits that it is sad that such discriminatory appointments and lopsided considerations are reflective of gross compromise of national equity and principles of Federal Character as enshrined in the constitution,” he said.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo therefore urged President Tinubu “to find a way to address this still-redeemable imbalance for the sake of inclusivity, fairness and justice.”
