‘One Battle After Another’ Wins American Society of Cinematographers Award

Michael Bauman has won the American Society of Cinematographers Award for a theatrical feature film for his work in ‘One Battle After Another’.

Bauman beat out ‘Sinners’ Autumn Durald Arkapaw for the award, thereby setting him up as the front-runner to win the Academy Award in a week. Bauman also won the BAFTA Award for Best Cinematographer, while Arkapaw dominated the ‘Critics Awards’ circuit. She’d be the first woman ever to win the Best Cinematography at the Academy Award, if she does win.

Similarly, ‘Frankenstein’s’ Dan Lausten and ‘Marty Supreme’s’ Darius Khondji, were also nominated for the Best Cinematography at the Oscars, rounding off the list of nominees for Best Cinematographer at the American Society of Cinematographers Award.

The Best Cinematographer for Documentary work went to ‘2000 Meters from Andriivka’, Mstyslav Chernov and Alex Babenko. ‘The Studio’ TV series Adam Newport-Berra won the prize for the half-hour series, for the episode ‘The Oner’, beating out the Emmy-nominated ‘Severance’, while the one-take wonder ‘Adolescence’ lost the Limited Series cinematographers award to Pete Konczal of Netflix’s ‘Black Rabbit’.
