The immediate past speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, has said no amount of gang up by opposition political parties can stop President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

He added that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is fully prepared to win the election based on performance.

Leading opposition figures have been fleshing out a coalition movement to remove Tinubu and APC in the 2027 election.

But speaking over the weekend, in Kabba, at an empowerment programme for over 250 widows from Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency, Kolawole stressed that “no political gang up” can produce a candidate that can unseat Tinubu in 2027.

He said Tinubu should be appreciated for his numerous reforms which, he said, are already yielding positive results.

He said the country’s economy was heading towards total collapse before Tinubu came on board, adding that he is doing everything humanly possible to reposition the economy of the country for effective service delivery.

“The APC led government has been able to initiate various reforms in the last two years, aimed at repositioning the economy of the country. Most of these reforms are already yielding positive results. The people should be patient and have confidence in the administration.

“The economy was in total shambles before president Ahmed Bola Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership. Today so many things have changed for good. It will continue to get better.”

He commended the Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, for his development programmes which, he said, has transformed the state in the last one year.

He commended the governor for paying the Leave Bonus to Kogi workers.

Over 250 widows were empowered by the former speaker as he presented cash, clothes and palliatives to them.

He also disclosed that he will give scholarships to students from Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in July this year.
