Oyo State Fire Services Agency has rescued three persons with minor injuries in an early morning fire incident at Amosun compound, Aremo area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The special assistant to the governor on Fire Services Reform/ chairman, Dr Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said the agency received a distress call at about midnight on Friday, from one Mr Mayowa about a house on fire at the said location.
He said, fire personnel led by CFS Adekola swiftly responded and deployed to the scene.
“On arrival, three bungalow residential buildings were engulfed by flames. Our officers hurriedly swung into action and on getting there, the attending crew requested an additional fire truck from fire service headquarters and worked to contain the fire,” he said.
According to him, the firefighters prevented it from spreading to nearby buildings and properties and the blaze was jointly extinguished.
He explained that the victims were treated at a nearby hospital.
He added that the fire incident was as a result of an electrical appliance left plugged during a power outage which ignited when power was restored.
The governor’s aide advised the residents to unplug every appliance when not in use to avert occurrence of fire disaster.
