Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has declared that the days of the People Democratic Party (PDP) are numbered in the state, only three National Assembly seats were numbered as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is geared to reclaim those positions in the next general elections.
The governor stated this at the occasion of “Government’s Citizen Engagement” (Gwamnati Da Jama’a) held in Dutse local government area of the state.
He noted that the development Projects and programs executed in Jigawa by the APC led state and federal government has improved the social and economic life of the citizens and these underscore their confidence in APC’s philosophy.
Namadi emphasised the success of his people-driven policies and underscored the growing strength of APC in the state, particularly within the Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone where they mistakenly voted for PDP candidates in 2023.
“The people of Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone, Buji /Birnin Kudu Federal constituency as well as Dutse/Kiyawa constituency confirmed to us that the three federal lawmakers voted under PDP were nothing in their representation other than total failure.
“Due to their failure the constituencies have asked them to start counting their days in the green and red chambers as they vowed to vote them out and also end PDP presence in the zone and Jigawa state in general by 2027.
“Our performance is our yardstick and the people of Jigawa are measuring is and our great party by the performance, we are happy to be gaining more ground and confidence of Jigawa people day by day as a result of our sincere commitment to their wellbeing,” Namadi stated.
He expressed deep gratitude to the people of Dutse local government for their steadfast loyalty, cooperation, and warm reception accorded to his government.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and citizen-focused governance.
While reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to sustained development across Jigawa State, the governor conveyed assurances from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on several major infrastructure projects in the area.
These include the completion of the Greater Dutse water project, progress on the Maradi-Dutse railway line, and the re-award and continuation of the Kano-Maiduguri highway project.
“The President has asked me to assure you that these projects will be delivered without delay and that national and community development efforts will continue in full force across Jigawa State,” he said.
