A combined team of security personnel, including operatives from the Nigerian Army, Police, and Department of State Services (DSS), has been deployed to the area.

As early as 8:00am, security operatives barricaded all entry points to the residence, restricting access to authorised persons only.

The heightened presence aims to ensure order and safety during the solemn proceedings.

LEADERSHIP reports that Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 in a London hospital after a prolonged illness.
