The state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, made this known when he played host to Jeje Riders and other biker groups that paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Jos, yesterday.

Governor Mutfwang commended Jeje Riders for all the humanitarian work and donation of ICT centers across some states. He expressed delight that Jeje Riders will be donating a fully equipped E-library in Plateau State.

The governor also thanked the bikers and commended them for organising themselves and the biking community, who are from various professional backgrounds.

He encouraged the bikers to use the platform to attract and market Plateau State while serving as peace ambassadors.

Speaking earlier, the president and chairman, Board of Trustees, Jeje Riders, Tizhe Mathew Ibrahim, thanked the governor for receiving thecgroup.

He said Jeje Riders is a group of professionals with a passion for international touring across boundaries and humanitarian work aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals “in the areas of community support services and development, peace advocacy, and Youth development”.

He further stated that members of Jeje Riders are drawn from various professional backgrounds, including academia, medical doctors, senior military officers, Interpol, and captains of industries.

Also speaking on the side line, a member of Jeje Riders, Peter Sunday Okpe, said Jeje Riders work to add value to humanity, supporting the course of good governance and fostering bikers’s relationships within and outside Nigeria.

He said the group has been involved in community development activities across the country.

“A lot has been done by Jeje Riders, of recent, during the Jigawa flood disaster; Jeje Riders was the first nongovernmental group that brought aid by providing 200 households with enough food to last for at least three weeks before other interventions came to the victims.

“In Zamfara State, we donated an integrated water system. We identified that need; people were having waterborne diseases and lacked potable drinking water.

“We have donated critical hospital equipment that is in urgent need to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital and Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.

“However, our major focus and preoccupation is the youth. They congregate around bikers. We want to leverage that platform to direct their minds positively. Provide modern learning aids. In Jigawa and Gombe State, we donated ICT centers commissioned by the governors of both states.

“This month, the Adamawa State Governor will be commissioning another ICT center in Michika Adamawa State donated by Jeje Riders. The thinking behind this is that students tend to lag behind in ICT.

“We support state governments by providing the ICT centers to upscale students ICT knowledge and skills,” said Okpe.

He also stated that the group dissuades the youth from negative vices, especially drug abuse.

Okpe noted that Jeje Riders is championing this in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with a national Anti-drug abuse and peddling campaign to flag off in Yola, Adamawa State, on the 12th of October 2024. He stressed that the campaign will be taken to all the states of the federation.
