Kaduna State Police Command, in a coordinated joint operation, stormed criminal hideouts within the Kawo axis of the state, arresting 27 suspected criminals and recovered dangerous weapons and illicit drugs.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the operation was carried out on June 8, 2025, at about 8:30pm.

Hassan said the raid was conducted in conjunction with operatives from the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), and local vigilante groups.

The PPRO explained that the operation targeted criminal enclaves in Kawo and its surrounding communities.

“During the raid, law enforcement agents recovered a cache of weapons including knives, axes, cutlasses, as well as large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs,” DSP Hassan said.

Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the synergy among the security agencies and reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance policy towards criminality in the state.

He stated that the raid was part of a broader strategy to dismantle criminal networks and reclaim public spaces from hoodlums and drug peddlers.

“Kaduna remains a peaceful state, and we are determined to sustain that peace. The Command will not allow miscreants or criminally-minded individuals to destabilise our communities,” the CP assured.

He urge those who may be nursing violent intentions to either desist or vacate the state, pledging “there will be no hiding place for criminals”.
