Police Arrest 33 Suspected Thugs In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 33 persons suspected to be thugs during a five-day intelligence-led operation targeted at ridding the metropolis of criminal elements.

Spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement said the suspects were apprehended between April 23 and April 28, 2025, during raids on identified flashpoints across Kano city.

Kiyawa said the operations were carried out by Tactical Teams under the direct supervision of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, and led by CSP Bashir Gwadabe of the Anti-Daba Unit.

Items recovered from the suspects include dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, and stolen properties.

Police said the suspects are expected to face prosecution on charges bordering on armed robbery, possession of illegal weapons, and drug-related offences.
