Police Arrest 4 Over Kidnapping, Rescue 14 In Niger

Police in Niger State have arrested four suspects who allegedly conspired to  abduct people and rustle cattle.

The police also rescued 14 abducted victims in Zungeru and Mangoro village in Wushishi and Munya local government areas.

olice spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said  yesterday   that information was received that one Nuhu Yakubu had been missing for about three days, and after a concerted search,  his body was found in a bush around Gusasse area of Maikunkele, Bosso LGA.

“Series of interrogations and painstaking inquiry were conducted by operatives attached to Crack Squad of the command, and the effort led to the arrest of four suspects in connection with the incident,” he said 

He named those arrested  as Aminu Dada, Umar Sule, Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Abubakar, saying they were arrested at Labin-Rafin Gwago via Garatu, Bosso LGA.

He said they confessed to the killing of the deceased and about 81 cows and 41 sheep suspected to have been rustled were recovered from them.
