Police Arrest 5 Over Attack On FRCN Station

Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five people including a female in connection with the attack on Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Radio Station, Amuludun in Ibadan yesterday.

The command’s spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, gave the names of the suspects as Noah Atoyebi (32), Gbenga Adeleke (25), Abdulganiyy Mustapha Kolawole (35), Bahiru Kehinde (female) and Fajola Elijah.

Following preliminary investigations, he said at about 06:00hrs the valiant and eagle-eyed operatives of the command while on intelligence driven patrols received a distress call about some members of a group driven by a separatist at FRCN located in Moniya, Ibadan with the intent to declare liberation from the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He said no personnel from the establishment or any other persons were hurt as the command responded swiftly in a well -coordinated rescue operation.

According to him, the commissioner of police has personally detailed an investigation team led by the deputy commissioner of Police in charge of the state Criminal Investigation Department to demystify circumstances around the incident and as well expand the network of arrests through thorough, painstaking intelligence driven investigation.
