Police Arrest APC Secretary Over Killing Of 45-yr-old Women

The Yobe State Police commend has announced a major breakthrough in the investigation of a female corpse found last week near the federal University Gashua, leading to the arrest of a secretary to the All Progressive Congress (APC) and vegetable market leader in Gashua.

A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungu AbdulKarim, disclosed that the command confirmed that its operatives from Bade Division have arrested one Abdulmumini Garba, aged 60, in connection with the death of 45-year-old Falmata Abubakar.
The suspect confessed to having conveyed the victim in his vehicle, during which an argument ensued over her request for financial assistance to support her business.

He said that the altercation tragically resulted in her death inside the vehicle. Realizing that she had died, the suspect stated that he subsequently disposed of the body in a nearby bush at about 2200hrs on the same date the spot where the corpse was later discovered.

According to the statement, this development is a testament to the command’s proactive intelligence-gathering capacity and the tactical operational strategies deployed by Bade Division, which led to the swift tracking and arrest of the suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, has commending the Divisional Police Officer and his team for their professionalism and determination, reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served.

He further assured the public that the investigation will be concluded diligently, and the case charged to court upon completion.
