The Kebbi State police command has beefed up security operations at all border areas in the state following an intelligence report that Kamba area of Dandi local government area of the state is one the routes used by bandits to Kwara State.

The command in a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi by the spokesman, DSP Nafiu Abubakar, said security had been beefed up not only in Kamba in all other border communities in the state.

Nafiu added that the state’s acting commissioner of police, DCP Maiyaki Baba while urging people in the state to ignore such reports assured them that the command was collaborating with other security agencies to ensure safety of lives and property. Maiyaki called on the people to report any suspicious character to nearest police station.
He also said the command would not hesitate to deal with any criminal either en-route border areas or in the local government areas.
