The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a statement on Saturday, that the reports or rumours, circulating on online platforms, of a planned abduction at the University of Abuja campus by unknown individuals, were misleading, false and should be disregarded.

According to the PPRO, “the FCT Police command wishes to clarify that these reports are nothing but baseless publications propagated by rumour mongers aiming to create unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and University community.

“The COMMAND hereby reiterates its commitment to securing and safeguarding the lives and property of residents in the FCT as adequate deployment of personnel and equipments have been implemented to enhance the security situation within the FCT, which includes the University of Abuja.

“The command also urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the FCT Police Command’s emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653. For complaints, please contact PCB at 09022222352 or CRU at 08107314192.”
